The Assassin’s Creed Workout
Train like Naoe & Yasuke
The Assassin’s Creed franchise is back with Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, set in feudal Japan and featuring two distinct protagonists: Naoe, the stealthy shinobi Assassin, and Yasuke, the legendary African samurai. This highly anticipated title drops on March 20th, and to celebrate, fitness YouTuber The Bioneer has crafted an Assassin’s Creed-inspired workout program to help fans develop the agility, strength, and endurance of a true shinobi or samurai.
Mastering the Assassin’s Creed Athleticism
The Assassin’s Creed series has always featured protagonists with near-superhuman movement skills, from scaling buildings and executing precision jumps to blending seamlessly into the shadows. The Bioneer, real name Adam Sinicki, has designed a 45-day workout challenge to develop these essential attributes—focusing on grip strength, agility, endurance, and control.
“The characters have always moved like fictional ninjas,” Sinicki explains. “It’s not enough just to be strong. If you want to move like these characters, you also need endurance so that you don’t gas out when you’re giving chase. You need agility, body control, [and] grip strength.”
Key Exercises from the Assassin’s Creed Workout
Among the standout drills in the workout plan is the Tactical Pull-Up, a movement designed to simulate real-world climbing. Unlike a conventional pull-up, the thumbs remain on top of the bar rather than wrapped around it. As Sinicki explains, “If you are climbing onto the top of a building, you can’t get your thumbs underneath, so here we’re practicing having them on top as you would do if you’re climbing something.”
Another fundamental movement is the Precision Broad Jump, which enhances jumping power and control. This exercise involves leaping between small targets, improving precision, and developing explosive strength.

The program progressively builds over 45 days, beginning with foundational movements and culminating in an intense shinobi-and-samurai-inspired routine. Here’s a look at the first and final workouts:
