Bujinkan Seminar in the UK

Bujinkan members have the opportunity to train with a top instructor this spring. Mark your calendar as Dai Shihan Andrej Jasenc, chief instructor of Bujinkan Slovenia, heads to the UK for an intensive seminar.

The training, focusing on Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu and Kenjutsu, will take place in Milton Keynes on the 5th and 6th of April 2025. This is a unique chance to deepen your understanding of these classical Japanese martial arts under the expert guidance of a long-time student of Ishizuka Sensei, the current head of Gyokko Ryu.

What You Will Learn

Gyokko Ryu is one of the nine martial traditions taught within the Bujinkan system. This unique style specializes in targeting muscles and joints using Shitojutsu—the strategic use of thumbs and fingers to subdue an opponent. Kosshijutsu, often described as "knocking down the enemy with one finger," is considered the backbone of martial arts and essential to mastering body movement and control.

Participants will also explore Kenjutsu, the traditional art of Japanese swordsmanship, under the instruction of a true master with decades of experience.

About Andrej Jasenc

Dai Shihan Andrej Jasenc brings a wealth of experience to this event. As a direct student of Ishizuka Sensei, he has dedicated his life to preserving and sharing authentic Bujinkan teachings. Recently, he conducted a successful seminar in New Orleans, USA, and continues to inspire martial artists worldwide with his deep knowledge and engaging teaching style.

Bujinkan Philosophy

The classical teachings of Gyokko Ryu emphasize discipline and ethical combat. A core principle of this tradition is: "Destroy your enemy’s power but not his life." Another fundamental concept states: "As a strong enemy comes, keep an indomitable spirit."

Looking Ahead

Following the UK seminar, Andrej Jasenc will host Hiroshi Nagase at his home dojo in Slovenia this August. The summer camp will feature training in ancient weapons, including shuriken, jutte, and kyoketsu shoge, offering another fantastic opportunity for dedicated students to expand their skills.
